    The Basic Welding Program is an introduction to basic stick welding terminology, maintenance, safety procedures and equipment requirements.  Mig welding and cutting will also be covered.

    Pre-Employment Electrician/Wind Turbine

    Electrical energy created through the use of wind turbines is a rapidly expanding industry. This program is designed to help you get the training you need to be a part of the growing Wind Turbine Industry.

    Curriculum:
    First Year AB Electrical Apprenticeship - Technical
    Wind Turbine Maintenance
    Wind Turbine Construction
    Wind Turbine Maintenance Safety Certificate 
    • On-the-job training

    Credential achieved:
    • Certificate: Recognition of Achievement - Pre-Employment Electrician/Wind Turbine
    • LC Safety Passport

    Prerequisites:
    High School Diploma with pass mark in Math 23 or equivalent, and at least 10 credits in high school Science or Pass entrance exam.

Power Engineering - 5th Class
Lethbridge  College

This course is prepared for operators in the food processing industry, building operators, custodians, resident managers and others involved in operations of mechanical equipment in buildings and plants.  To qualify to take the ABSA exam and receive that certificate, you must have operated a power plant or heating plant boiler for a period of six months and successfully complete this course.

The purpose of this course is to act as an introduction to the basic design, operation and maintenance of heating and other mechanical equipment used in industry, school, apartments and office buildings of small to moderate size.

It is intended as a preparatory course to challenging the Alberta Boiler Safety Association 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate.

Prerequisites:   Minimum Grade 10 Math, Physics and English
